PTC Network, a prominent media organization, has submitted a formal request to Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh Ji of Akal Takht Sahib, seeking immediate action against the persistent violations occurring during the broadcast of Gurbani on various media platforms, including YouTube.

In a letter delivered on Wednesday, PTC Network highlighted how some media organisations and channels demand donations through advertisements during the Gurbani broadcast, reaping substantial profits without facing consequences.

This concerning issue had previously been brought to the attention of authorities in 2020, but unfortunately, no action was taken at that time.

The letter put forth a demand that the earnings generated through advertisements and sponsorships on these channels should be promptly transferred to the Guru's Golak (donation box). PTC Network also highlighted instances where obscene content was promoted on social media using Gurbani, a clear violation of Sikh ethics that has yet to be addressed.

It is worth noting that PTC Network has consistently dedicated its services to broadcasting Gurbani without seeking any financial return. However, in the current era of social media, where numerous channels disregard Sikh ethics, this has become a matter of great concern. Despite the sacred nature of Gurbani, advertisements, and sponsorships continue to be featured on various platforms while Gurbani is being broadcasted from Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib. Similarly, solicitation of sponsorships and donations occurs during Gurbani broadcasts from Shri Harmandir Sahib Patna Sahib. PTC Network has presented evidence of these violations to Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Regrettably, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has not taken decisive action to prevent the repeated violations of Sikh ethics in Gurbani broadcasts. In light of this, PTC Network's letter urges the newly appointed Jathedar to promptly address this pressing issue and implement strict measures to resolve it.

The Sikh community and Gurbani enthusiasts hope that their concerns will be taken seriously, and appropriate action will be taken to preserve the sanctity of Gurbani and uphold Sikh values in media platforms.

PTC Network remains committed to its mission of spreading the divine message of Gurbani and is hopeful that its plea will contribute to a positive change in the broadcasting practices related to Gurbani across various media platforms.
