Navya Nanda Fires Back at Trolls Over Her IIM Admission Criticism
Navya Naveli Nanda has made headlines for her admission to the Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad.
Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, has made headlines as she shared the exciting news on Instagram—her admission to the Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. Navya expressed her joy in her post, writing, “Dreams do come true. The next 2 years… with the best people & faculty! Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) Class of 2026.”
While many congratulated her on this achievement, not all responses were positive. A section of Reddit users questioned the legitimacy of the course, with one comment reading, “No CAT nothing just one minor course and flexing near IIM Ahmedabad. Oh god, what hypothetical people... Do you even have the courage to sit a competitive exam? Here students are losing their night and mind for one seat, and rich spoiled brats like you… Oh god, give me a break.”
Despite the criticism, many others defended Navya. Some Instagram users and Redditors pointed out that just because someone belongs to a famous family doesn't mean they aren't capable of academic excellence. One comment stated, “Wondering… Why people think celebrities can’t crack the entrance? If someone is born in a renowned family, it doesn’t mean that they can’t excel in academics. We should never pull down anybody without knowing the facts.”
Navya, known for her usually composed demeanor, rarely engages with online trolls. However, this time she chose to address the backlash. Taking to her Instagram stories, she shared a picture of herself cutting a cake in celebration of her IIM acceptance. She also acknowledged the person who coached her for the entrance exam, emphasizing that her admission was earned through hard work and determination.
Navya Nanda, the daughter of Shweta Bachchan and granddaughter of veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, is no stranger to public attention. In 2021, she launched Project Naveli, an initiative aimed at combating gender inequality in India. Additionally, she has hosted a podcast titled What The Hell Navya, which featured candid conversations with her mother Shweta and grandmother Jaya.
