Directed by Nag Ashwin, known for his previous works like 'Yevade Subramanyam' and 'Mahanati,' the sci-fi film also features Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. Recently, Nag Ashwin shared insights about the movie at an event held at IIT Bombay.
He mentioned that 'Kalki 2898 AD' stands out because it presents a futuristic India, a theme not explored much in Indian cinema. Nag Ashwin highlighted how the film's production benefited from recent technological advancements like text-to-image and image-to-text generators.
The delay in 'Kalki 2898 AD' isn't unique; Vishwak Sen's 'Gangs of Godavari' also faced a similar situation due to the elections. The film's release date was moved to May 17 after the announcement of the election dates.
With the Lok Sabha elections scheduled across seven phases starting from April 19 and the vote counting set for June 4, many film releases are being reshuffled to avoid clashes with the polling dates.
