Indian para-athletes Avani Lekhara, Mona Agarwal, Manish Narwal, and Preethi Pal have made the nation proud by securing medals at the Paris Paralympic Games 2024. Their outstanding performances were met with widespread celebration, including an outpouring of congratulations from Bollywood celebrities who took to social media to laud the athletes' achievements.

Avani Lekhara Wins Gold

Avani Lekhara led the Indian contingent by clinching the gold medal in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 final. This remarkable victory marks her second Paralympic gold, making her the first Indian woman to achieve this historic feat. Mona Agarwal also delivered an impressive performance, bringing home a bronze in the same event. In the men’s air rifle category, Manish Narwal secured a silver medal, further adding to India’s medal tally. Meanwhile, Preethi Pal made history by winning a bronze in the Women’s T25-100m event, becoming the first Indian para-athlete to accomplish this milestone.

Bollywood stars were quick to celebrate these remarkable achievements. Kareena Kapoor Khan shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a collage of the victorious athletes. She tagged Avani, Mona, Manish, and Preethi in her story, writing, “Huge congratulations,” accompanied by heart and tricolor emojis.


Ayushmann Khurrana also expressed his pride on Instagram, sharing photos of the medalists and writing, “What an amazing day for India at the Paralympics. Feeling super proud,” followed by individual congratulations to each of the athletes in his post.


Sonali Bendre joined in, posting a collage of Avani and Mona proudly displaying their medals. She captioned it with, “Medals are home again,” alongside heart and tricolor emojis, expressing her joy and pride.


Producer Jackky Bhagnani and actress Rakul Preet Singh also celebrated the athletes’ success.
