The Festival des 3 Continents in Nantes, France, is gearing up to celebrate the legendary career of Indian cinema icon Amitabh Bachchan with a nine-film retrospective. Fondly named "Amitabh Bachchan, Big B Forever," the retrospective promises to delve into the multifaceted career of the 81-year-old actor, showcasing his prowess in various genres that have defined Hindi-language cinema.


Amitabh Bachchan often hailed as the 'angry young man' of Indian cinema, rose to fame through iconic collaborations with renowned writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. The retrospective aims to highlight different facets of his extensive body of work, ranging from intense dramas like "Deewar" to the action-packed spectacle of "Sholay" and the romantic allure of "Kabhie Kabhie." The directors behind these cinematic gems, including Yash Chopra, Ramesh Sippy, Manmohan Desai, and Hrishikesh Mukherjee, are also celebrated figures in Indian cinema.

The 45th edition of the Festival des 3 Continents will feature a special segment dedicated to the cinematic legacy of Amitabh Bachchan. From November 24 to December 3, the festival will screen nine of his iconic films, offering audiences a glimpse into the evolution of Big B's craft. The selected films include classics such as "Trishul," "Amar Akbar Anthony," "Satte Pe Satta," "Sholay," "Don," "Kabhi Kabhie," "Deewaar," "Kaala Patthar," and "Abhimaan."

In addition to the retrospective, the festival will host the world premiere of an experimental documentary by French filmmaker Cedric Dupire, titled "The Real Superstar." This documentary promises an intimate exploration of Amitabh Bachchan's life and career, providing a unique perspective on the man behind the iconic roles.
