Virat Kohli's venture, One8 Commune, located in Bangalore, has recently come under legal scrutiny as the Bangalore Police filed an FIR against its managers. The case alleges that the popular establishment operated beyond the permissible hours set by local authorities. This development unfolded following a special enforcement campaign conducted on July 6, which targeted various establishments across the city for violations of Karnataka government regulations.

The FIR, lodged at the Cubbon Park Police Station, detailed allegations that on the night of July 6, One8 Commune continued to serve customers well past the legally mandated closing time. Specifically, at 1:20 am, patrons were reportedly still being served at the pub on Kasturba Road, exceeding the permitted operational hours. This breach of regulations led to legal action against the managers of One8 Commune, as well as against similar violations at other prominent venues in the city.

Among the establishments facing legal consequences are the Empire restaurant on Church Street and the Panjim Bar and Restaurant on Brigade Road. These venues, like One8 Commune, stand accused of disregarding the stipulated time restrictions on serving customers and operating their premises.

Under current regulations, pubs and restaurants in Bangalore are authorized to operate until 1 am, after which serving food, drinks, or playing music is strictly prohibited. The enforcement campaign on July 6 targeted these violations across multiple locations, signaling a concerted effort by local authorities to uphold regulatory compliance in the city's nightlife sector.

Launched last year, One8 Commune expanded to Bangalore in December following successful openings in Delhi and Mumbai. Virat Kohli, expressing his personal affinity for Bangalore, designated it as his favorite city, citing sentimental reasons for choosing to establish the restaurant there. Since its inauguration, One8 Commune near Cubbon Park has gained popularity among locals, becoming a notable addition to Bangalore's vibrant dining and nightlife scene.
