With OTT series becoming an increasingly popular option, audiences expect shows that can keep them intrigued. However, two of the most highly anticipated series, "Mirzapur 3" and "Kota Factory Season 3," returned to OTT platforms with mixed reviews, failing to meet expectations.

Mirzapur Season 3: A Four-Year Wait Ends in Disappointment

After a long, four-year wait, "Mirzapur Season 3" finally arrived but fell short of the explosive spectacle fans had hoped for. The first season, which debuted in 2018, captivated audiences with its potent blend of action, deceit, politics, and power. Vikrant Massey's portrayal of Bablu Pandit's tragic death left fans emotional, while Pankaj Tripathi's chilling performance as Kaleen Bhaiya was spellbinding. In the second season, Ali Fazal's Guddu Pandit's quest for revenge and Divyenndu's dynamic portrayal of Munna Bhaiya kept viewers on the edge of their seats.

However, Season 3, released after an excruciating wait, failed to live up to the hype. Guddu and Kaleen Bhaiya returned, joined by Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi and Shweta Tripathi as Golu, but Munna Bhaiya's absence was keenly felt. Eager fans binge-watched the new season immediately, only to find that while the show didn't hold back on violence, the brutality often felt excessive and lacked the impactful storytelling of previous seasons. The charm of the earlier seasons, which lay in their quiet moments amid chaos, was missing in Season 3. Many fans found the season boring and criticized the weak storyline. Despite the mixed reactions, the post-credit scene hinted at a possible "Mirzapur Season 4."

Kota Factory Season 3: Struggling with Its Premise

"Kota Factory Season 3" retained its dramatic black-and-white look and sleek aerial cinematography but faltered in many areas. The show seemed trapped in its basic premise of Kota being a 'factory,' despite its intention to critique this trend. The narrative struggled to offer fresh insights or developments, making it difficult for the audience to stay engaged.

Both "Mirzapur 3" and "Kota Factory 3" faced the challenge of high expectations, which they were unable to meet. While fans were excited about the return of these popular series, the execution and storytelling left much to be desired, resulting in a lackluster reception.
