He has once again delighted his fans as he was recently awarded the ‘Gamechanger of the year' award but instead of taking credits, he dedicated his award to actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood.
Varun Dhawan said that Sonu Sood is a true inspiration for him and that he motivated him and thus, he would dedicate his award to Sonu Sood for his selfless work.

Sonu Sood has served the nation during difficult times of Covid-19. Varun Dhawan, while dedicating his award to Sonu Sood, mentioned that Sonu Sood inspired him with his dedication to helping others when the world was under a pandemic situation due to Covid-19.
Varun said the way he went out to his extreme and gave a shoulder to everyone has his heart. Dhawan also mentioned that Sonu himself was suffering from Covid-19, but he didn’t lose hope and stood tall for others. Thus, Sonu Sood is regarded as the 'nation’s hero', he said.

For the unversed, Sonu Sood has helped countless people during the lockdown period by providing them with travel and food. His foundation 'Sonu Sood Foundation since then has been working, round the clock, for the welfare of society.
