Vaisakhi 2022: Baisakhi or Vaisakhi, aka Vaisakh Sankranti, is one of the major festivals for the Sikh community. The people of Punjab celebrate Vaisakhi with a lot of happiness and joy. Vaisakhi also marks the beginning of the Sikh New Year.
Besides, the Vaisakhi festival celebrates the formation of the Khalsa by the 10th Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699.

North India marks this day as the beginning of the spring harvest season. According to the Hindu solar calendar, Baisakhi is celebrated on the first day of Vaishakhi month. Likewise, Vaisakhi, this year, is going to be celebrated on 14 April, according to the Gregorian Calendar.
Similarly, Vaisakhi 2022 will be celebrated on April 14, as per the Nanakshahi calendar 2022.

Celebrating the festival, the Sikh devotees gather in the Gurudwaras from across the world and volunteer for the divine service of the community kitchen, also known as ‘Langar’, for society.

On the other hand, the farmers in Punjab and Haryana worship their agricultural lands and harvest the first crop of the season.
Meanwhile, the historic Gurdwara Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahab, Yahiyaganj has organised a two-day celebration on Wednesday and Thursday.
