Kangana Ranaut expressed her disapproval of the casting decisions for the upcoming film adaptation of 'Ramayana', directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
Kangana Ranaut reacts to Ranbir Kapoor's role in Ramayan: In a recent Instagram post, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut expressed her disapproval of the casting decisions for the upcoming film adaptation of 'Ramayana', directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
Ranaut criticized the selection of Ranbir Kapoor to play the role of Lord Ram and referred to him as a "skinny white rat," while also accusing him of engaging in underhanded PR tactics and being notorious for womanizing and drug addiction.
Taking to her Instagram stories on Saturday, Kangana Ranaut shared her thoughts in response to media reports that suggested Ranbir Kapoor would be portraying Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The reports also indicated that Alia Bhatt would be playing the role of Sita, and Kannada star Yash would be portraying Ravana.
In her Instagram story, Ranaut sarcastically commented on the star-studded cast, writing, "Recently I am hearing news about another coming up Bolly Ramayana... Where a skinny white rat (so-called actor) who desperately needs some sun tan and conscience he is infamous for doing nasty underhand PR about almost everyone in the industry... known for womanizing and drug addiction after desperately trying to prove himself Lord Shiva in a trilogy (which no one watched or wants to make more parts of) has now grown fancy to be Lord Rama..."
Kangana further suggested that Yash, who is known for his role in the Kannada film KGF, should play the role of Ram instead of Ravana. She praised Yash as a self-made star, devoted family man, and traditionalist, noting that his complexion, demeanor, and facial features resemble Lord Ram as described by Valmiki in the original epic. Kangana questioned the decision to cast a "pale-looking druggie soy boy" as Lord Ram, expressing her dissatisfaction by saying, "What kind of Kalyuga is this?? No pale-looking druggie soy boy should play Lord Rama... Jai Shri Ram 🙏."
Meanwhile, rumors have been circulating on social media that the release of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, has been postponed. Another piece of news generating buzz on social media is the potential replacement of Sai Pallavi with Alia Bhatt in the role of Sita. This casting update has sparked anger among netizens, who have voiced their discontent online.
In the midst of this controversy, Kangana Ranaut continues to be busy with her upcoming projects. She is set to make her solo directorial debut with the film Emergency, which revolves around the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In the movie, Kangana will portray the titular role of the late politician. Additionally, she has several other films in the pipeline, including Tejas, Chandramukhi 2, Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda, and The Incarnation: Sita.
