Kangana Ranaut, a prominent figure in Bollywood, is celebrated not only for her remarkable acting prowess but also for her forthright and often controversial opinions. As an outsider in the film industry, she has consistently campaigned against perceived inequalities and malpractices. Among her many critiques, Ranaut once described Ayushmann Khurrana as a "sycophantic outsider." This remark, along with others, has frequently kept her in the media spotlight. Recently, she addressed the reasons behind this characterization in a candid interview.

Currently, Kangana Ranaut is focused on promoting her upcoming film Emergency, despite its fair share of controversies. During a recent appearance on the television program, Ranaut was asked to elucidate her comments about fellow actors. Specifically, she was questioned about why she had labelled Ayushmann Khurrana as a "sycophantic outsider."

Ranaut explained that her criticism stemmed from Khurrana’s initial public stance against her. She recounted, "He attacked me first. When he was struggling in his career, he referred to me as a role model in an interview. However, once he began to achieve success, he turned against me. He resorted to flattering others to advance his career. In this so-called 'great, sacred' industry, no one seems to have a problem with anyone else—only I am portrayed as the issue."

In the same interview, Ranaut elaborated on her controversial description of star kids as "boiled eggs." She articulated, "Audiences want to see actors who are relatable, who live among the public, and who engage with the world outside their celebrity bubble. For my portrayal of Indira Gandhi, I underwent significant aging treatments. Conversely, star kids often rely on gym sessions and Botox for their roles. While I am not condemning them, I believe they should spend more time engaging with the world outside their cars and the confines of their privileged lives. They often exhibit a childlike demeanor well into their 30s and 40s, adorned with exaggerated accessories and a certain detachment from reality."

Kangana’s Professional and Political Ventures

On the professional front, Kangana’s recent project was the Hindi film Tejas, where she portrayed an Air Force pilot. Despite her commendable performance, the film struggled at the box office. In a notable shift in 2024, Ranaut transitioned into politics, contesting in the general elections and securing a seat as an MP from the Mandi constituency. She is now gearing up for the release of Emergency, a film that has generated considerable anticipation. Additionally, she is working on an unnamed Tamil-Hindi psychological thriller, promising further diversification in her career.
