Farah Khan's mother passes away: Menaka Irani, mother of filmmakers Farah Khan and Sajid Khan, has passed away at the age of 79. This tragic news comes shortly after Farah revealed on Instagram that her mother had undergone multiple surgeries.
In a show of respect and support, Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, visited Farah Khan’s residence in Mumbai. Menaka Irani, who had a brief acting career, was the sister of renowned child actors Daisy Irani and Honey Irani.
Among others who paid their respects were Maniesh Paul, Vikram Phadnis, and Fardeen Khan, who were seen outside Farah’s house. Menaka Irani's passing occurred just days after she celebrated her birthday.
On July 12, Farah Khan had shared heartfelt photos and a lengthy note on Instagram to honor her mother on her birthday. Farah's post lauded her mother's strength, expressing regret for taking her for granted and longing to see her mother strong again so they could continue their spirited exchanges. "We all take our mothers for granted... especially me!" she wrote.
Farah has often spoken about the financial struggles she, her brother Sajid, and their mother faced after the death of their father, Kamran Khan, who succumbed to alcoholism. Menaka Irani raised Farah and Sajid singlehandedly, showcasing her resilience and dedication.
In addition to being the sister of Daisy Irani and Honey Irani, Menaka Irani was the aunt of filmmakers Zoya and Farhan Akhtar, making her a central figure in a family deeply rooted in the Indian film industry.
