The Bombay High Court has given the green light for the release of the film 'Hamare Baarah' following the filmmakers' agreement to implement certain changes. The court, after reviewing the film, determined that it did not contain any content offensive to the Muslim community. However, suggestions were made for modifications to specific scenes.

Hamare Baarah To Finally Release

The petitioners, who initially filed a plea to halt the release of the Annu Kapoor-starring film, alleged that its trailer insulted Islamic beliefs. This led the Supreme Court to stay the film's release and refer the matter to the Bombay High Court for a decision.

On Tuesday, the Bombay High Court bench confirmed that they had viewed the film and had ensured the removal of any objectionable content. Advocate Fazrul Rehman Sheikh, representing the petitioners, communicated that the court recognized the film’s positive social message, stating, “The judges opined that the movie delivers a good social message and is not as it was projected based on the trailer."

Hamare Baarah Controversy

The controversy arose from the film's trailer, which the court deemed highly offensive. Fazrul Rehman Sheikh noted that the court criticized the release of such a provocative trailer and pointed out the stark contrast between the trailer's portrayal and the actual content of the film. He further mentioned that the necessary censored changes were agreed upon, and an official order was expected to be passed following a consensus on all observations.

The court also admonished the petitioners for their premature judgment based on the trailer and posters without watching the film. It emphasized that filmmakers must exercise caution to avoid offending any religious sentiments.

Virender Bhagat, the film’s producer, addressed the resolution of the misunderstanding, stating, "The judges watched the film and confirmed that it focuses on women empowerment. The offensive trailer has been removed."

‘Hamare Baarah’, directed by Kamal Chandra and jointly produced by Virender Bhagat, Ravi S Gupta, Sanjay Nagpal, and Sheo Balak Singh, features notable actors Annu Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, and Paritosh Tripathi. With the court’s approval and the required modifications, the film is set to proceed with its release.
