The Hindu Seva Parishad, represented by Atul Jeswani, has spearheaded the opposition against 'Annapoorni,' citing numerous scenes within the film that purportedly dishonor the revered figure of Lord Shri Ram in Hinduism. Jeswani has pointed out instances where disrespectful comments about Lord Shri Ram are made, claiming that these have deeply distressed members of the Hindu community. Moreover, the group alleges that the film promotes the contentious concept of 'love jihad' and presents Lord Rama in a controversial light by depicting him as someone who consumed meat during his exile.
The filing of a First Information Report (FIR) by the Hindu Seva Parishad at the Omtee police station in Jabalpur has intensified the situation. This legal action targets several key figures involved in the film's creation, including the director Nilesh Krishna, lead actor Nayan Tara, producer Jatin Sethi, and others, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, citing the portrayal of the film as anti-Hindu.

The allegations further suggest that the film not only portrays controversial elements but also misrepresents revered religious scriptures, such as the Ramayana and Puranas, leading to a distortion of facts associated with Hindu deities.
