South African rapper AKA Kiernan Jarryd Forbes dies in gunshot in Durban

In a shocking incident, South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, mostly known by his stage as AKA, was slain by a gunshot in Durban. The rapper was only 35 years old.

According to reports, a drive-by shooting occurred outside a restaurant on Florida Road on Friday night, and the rapper was the victim of the gunshot. It is said that he had planned to go to the YUGO nightclub that evening to celebrate his birthday.

If reports are to be believed, AKA was shot while he was standing on the pavement in the late hours. The rapper's close friend also killed in the shooting while his security was hurt.

"I can confirm that two persons were killed, one of whom was a well-known rapper. Until a thorough investigation is conducted, police won't release the victims' names "Robert Netshiunda, a spokesman for the KwaZulu-Natal police, informed the press.

AKA was gearing up for the release of his upcoming album, "Mass Country," which is scheduled for February 27. He has been promoting the record in his most recent social media posts. Rapper "Victory Lap" is his most well-known song. He is survived by the child he had in 2015 with his ex-girlfriend DJ Zinhle, Kairo Olwethu Forbes.
