'Sita Ramam' is a period romantic drama which is written and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and bankrolled by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema.

The film features Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna and Sumanth in promising roles. Notably, Mrunal Thakur is making her debut in the Telugu film industry.
The film is set in on 1964, based on Lieutenant Ram's life who is an orphan army officer serving at the Kashmir border. He gets anonymous love letters from Sita Mahalakshmi and then, Ram goes on a mission to find Sita and propose her.

Sita Ramam real story: What's the idea behind the film?
Director Hanu Raghavpudi got the idea when he bought a book to read in 2007. The book had an unopened letter. The letter was from a mother to her son. Hanu came to know that their family was from Vijayawada and that the son was living in a hostel.

In the letter, the mother had enquired about her son's well-being and asked when would he come back home. The writer Hanu Raghavpudi wonderd if the contents of the letter had something crucial that might change the course of events.
The incident struck the writer's mind and then the Army backdrop was included in the story. It was suggested by Rajkumar Kandamudi.
