The Indian culture en-routes colour for every festivity and celebration, the wedding has one too, Red. Red is believed to be the colour of love, passion and prosperity. It had been running in Indian households as the colour of weddings for decades, but now new choices are being served on the table. The colours from the palette range from the darkest of brown to the new shades of love, from green donning to the lightest of pink. It is all about some newness now.
The recent viral wedding of Athiya Shetty, daughter of Suniel Shetty with the cricketer KL Rahul tied the knot on 23rd January 2023 where the actress is seen opting for a pastel pink lehenga instead of choosing red.
Further, the beautiful ensemble created by the Indian designer Anamika Khanna fitted with absolute perfection on the tall figure of the star. The heavily embellished lehenga is entirely handmade embedding exquisite zardozi and jaali work with a long veil made entirely with pastel pink silk organza. According to the reports, it took almost 10,000 working hours to complete the extravagant lehenga.

Among the many, Anushka Sharma was one of the first celebrities who wore a pink shade Sabyasachi lehenga for such a big day. The celebrity inspired many. Alia Bhatt was another actress who owned her wedding moment appearing thin and light as air.
There was no other celebrity who owed a look such minimalistic and rich at the same time, lehenga designed by exclusive Manish Malhotra with no-make-up make-up look was beyond the realm of reality.
Today it is not just celebrities who are going for ‘no-red’ outfits but also other Indian brides. It is indeed very interesting to see how new influential colours are flooding Indian society.
