Reason behind Whatsapp, Instagram and Facebook shutdown is still unknown!

Friday night in India, the social sites Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram suffered an outage. Many users were unable to log in, send or receive messages on all these three websites.

The issue was faced by iOS, Android users, and also PC users. While the Instagram and Facebook newsfeed was unable to refresh, the message was unable to be sent or received on Whatsapp.

The problem occurred at 10:40 PM in India which went up to an hour, where people faced issues in sending receiving messages. According to the Downdetector website, against Whatsapp, more than 38000 issues were reported while Instagram and Facebook reported more than 30000 and 2000 respectively.

The real reason behind the shutdown has not been detected so far but a Facebook spokesperson has reported it as a technical issue. This is not the first time that such a blackout has happened. Back in the year 2020  December, Instagram, Whatsapp, and Facebook did go down for few hours.
