Randeep Hooda to mark his directorial debut with biopic film 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar'

'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' movie release date: Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda, who is one of the finest actors in the Bollywood industry, is all set to mark his directorial debut with 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar', the upcoming biopic of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, who was one of the freedom fighters of India.

Taking to Instagram, Randeep Hooda shared a post to share the good news with his fans.

While announcing the 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' movie's release date, he wrote: "This is a special moment. Lights, Camera HISTORY! Starting shoot for my next, @anandpandit & @officialsandipssingh's #SwatantryaVeerSavarkar. The film is slated to release on May 26, 2023, on the occasion of #VeerSavarkar's 140th birth anniversary."

Notably, the film 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' is a biopic of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, who was known as Veer Savarkar.

While Randeep Hooda's making his directorial debut, he will also be seen reprising the role of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar in the film.

Earlier, it was announced that director Mahesh Manjrekar will direct the project. However, Mahesh seemed to have opted out of the biopic due to mysterious reasons.

Who was Vinayak Damodar Savarkar?

Notably, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was born on May 28, 1883, in Maharashtra's Nashik. He was a freedom fighter, a politician, a lawyer, and a prominent writer. He was known for coining the term 'Hindutva'.
