Gippy Grewal Issued with Bailable WarrantThe court has now directed that Gippy Grewal be produced with a bailable warrant and a surety of Rs 5,000. This legal action comes in response to Grewal's absence, despite the court's instructions for him to appear.
Gippy Grewal had originally filed a complaint against gangster Dilpreet Baba, accusing him of extortion and threats. The complaint, lodged at the Phase-8 police station, led to the registration of a case against Dilpreet Baba. The court has stated that if Grewal does not appear on the next scheduled date, non-bailable warrants will be issued. The next hearing is set for August 20.
According to reports, a warrant was first issued on July 4, with a directive for Gippy Grewal to appear by July 10. However, a bailiff reported that Grewal had been residing in Canada for several months. Despite this, the court emphasized the necessity of Gippy Grewal's physical presence, as his testimony is crucial to the case. Nonetheless, Gippy Grewal did not appear in court on the designated date, prompting the court to reissue the warrant.
Gippy Grewal had reported receiving a threatening WhatsApp message from Dilpreet Baba on May 31, 2018. The message, which came at 4 p.m., contained threats and demands for ransom money. The threats referenced the fates of others who had crossed Baba. Following this, the police registered a case against Dilpreet Baba on June 1, 2018.
