Parineeti Chopra to 'star' opposite Diljit Dosanjh in Imitiaz Ali's next

Chamkila cast and release date: Parineeti Chopra is going to be featured opposite Diljit Dosanjh in Imitiaz Ali's Amar Singh Chamkila biopic, a report stated on Thursday. 'Saina' actress will miss out on Ranbir Kapoor-starrer 'Animal'.

Parineeti Chopra is all set to work with one of the finest directors of Bollywood — Imtiaz Ali. His biopic is titled Chamkila which is based on the life of the Indian singer Amar Singh Chamkila.

Also, the film marks Parineeti's debut with Imtiaz. Unfortunately, the 'Saina' actress won't able to work in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal.

There are reports that Parineeti always wanted to collaborate with the visionary director Imtiaz. Imitiaz Ali's 'Chamkila', a biopic on Amar Singh Chamkila' hasn't got its release date yet but its cast is said to be amazing as it reportedly includes Diljit Dosanjh as well.

As per the reports, the filmmakers wanted an actor, for the male lead, who can sing as well. Also, it is said to be a special project for Imtiaz Ali. Diljit Dosanjh came onboard as Chamkila has been one of his inspirations, reports said.

If reports are to be believed, Dosanjh will also sing some of Amar Singh Chamkila's original songs.
