Hockey player Varinder Singh Death news: In a tragic news for Indian Hockey, the Olympic Medalist Varinder Singh passed away at the age of 75.
Jalandhar's Surjit Hockey Society shared the news of Hockey player Varinder Singh. It stated that "it was sad to inform you that Hockey Olympian Varinder Singh has expired here at Jalandhar."

According to information, he took his last breath at a private hospital in Jalandhar.

Notably, Varinder Singh was born on May 16, 1947. He was an Indian field hockey player and had won a bronze medal at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.

Olympian Varinder had also competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics and he was also the Dhayan Chand Awardee. On August 29, 2007, then-President Smt Pratibha Patel presented him with the Dhyan Chand Award.
All the members of the Surjit Hockey Society prayed to the Almighty to give the family members courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

This is indeed a piece of sad news for hockey players. Besides, it is sad news for the whole of Punjab as well.
It is because Punjab recently lost legendary Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala who was shot dead in Mansa on May 29.
