Over than a year after the city police busted a racket to artificially boost the social media followers of celebrities and influential people, the Crime Branch of Mumbai has filed a 446-page chargesheet alleging that singer Aditya Prateek Singh aka Badshah paid Rs 74 lakh to get 72 lakh views for a video. One of the accused has stated that he did nothing illegal.

As per media reports, Badshah confessed to purchasing fake views in front of the police during interrogation. It was done in order to break the world record, according to the statement. However, earlier in a statement, the rapper stated, "I spoke to the Mumbai Police after the summons."

I've denied all of the charges levelled against me. I stated unequivocally that I had never participated in such practices. The police have been investigating the fake view racket for over a year. Celebs were allegedly using it to gain more followers, likes, and comments on their posts.

According to the charge sheet, 11 panchs, 25 witnesses, and five defendants are named. Four of the five defendants have been apprehended. The case has named witnesses Badshah and Koena Mitra. One of the defendants in the case claimed he gained 7-8 new followers.
