Runway 34 trailer, cast, real story, and release date: The trailer of mid-air thriller 'Runway 34', featuring Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rakul Preet Singh, was released and promised thrill and adventure.

The film is all about a thrilling ride in an aircraft which is flown by the characters of Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh with some challenges down their way. Ajay is playing the role of Captain Vikrant Khanna who is a confident pilot with some amazing flying skills.

'Runway 34', which is inspired by 'real events', is directed by Ajay. As soon as the trailer was released, people were wondering if 'Runaway 34' is a real story or not.

What is the real story behind 'Runway 34'?

As per reports, the film is based on the 2015 Jet Airways Doha Kochi flight incident. Runway 34 has recreated the 'gravest' safety incident ever that occurred at any of the Indian airports. As many as 150 people were on board the aircraft including the crew members.

Real story behind 'Runway 34: What really happened?

The incident took place on August 18, 2015. A Jet Airways flight 9W 555 arrived from Doha, the Capital of Qatar, over Kochi at 5.45 am in the morning. It was a Boeing 737-800. The visibility was low for the aircraft's landing due to the haze that came out of heavy rain during the previous night. After holding on for almost half an hour, the pilot decided to divert the aircraft to Trivandrum.

However, the visibility at Trivandrum was also less than what was required for the landing. The brave pilots declared “May Day” and managed to land the aircraft 'blindly' in the seventh attempt. If the pilots would have gone for another go-around, the plane would have crashed due to lack of fuel, the officials said. Therefore, the incident turned out to be one of the most serious safety incidents at any Indian airport.
