Jungle Cry is based on true events, and it recounts the journey of 12 underprivileged tribal children who, over the course of four months, worked hard to master the game of rugby and eventually became the roaring Jungle Cats of India, winning the famous U14 Rugby World Cup in England in 2007.
Jungle Cry, which is shot in a quasi-documentary style, is not only a feel-good and genuine portrayal of a true and inspiring sports story, but it also explores surprisingly deep into feelings and emotions. Abhay Deol is fantastic and the film is held together by his performance. Emily Shah's portrayal of physiotherapist Roshni Thakkar is absolutely outstanding.
