According to writer Jitendra Gyanchandani, writer and director Raaj Shaandilyaa plagiarised the idea and plot of his film "Janhit Mein Jari" from one of his writings. Raj Shandilya has now responded to this.

In 2019, the Screen Writers Association reportedly received a submission from Jitendra Gianchandani and Gautam Prasad Shaw titled "Condom Pyaar Ki Pehli Shart."

Jitendra stated, “Gautam had registered the script in his name in 2017. I had received the story from a director to improvise it further. In 2019, the said director liked my story and called Gautam and I to work together. We registered the story jointly in October 2019. Gautam pitched the story to Raaj in June 2020 and then Shaandilyaa announced the movie 'Janhit Mein Jaari' in November 2020."

Jitendra asserted that he had submitted two complaints: one with SWA, which is waiting for a hearing, and one with the Versova police. Additionally, he has disclosed that Shaandilyaa is not backing him in his fight to prove that he violated copyright. He said, “There are many aspiring writers who don't have resources to fight unethical practices in the Bollywood fraternity by established production houses”

In response to the accusations, Shaandilyaa told ETimes, "We have already responded to them with a legal notice and for your kind information our story was registered in 2017. Anyone can come and claim anything today.”
