'Oppenheimer' day 4 box office collection; Christopher Nolan movie beats 'Barbie' in India

Christopher Nolan's magnificent project, 'Oppenheimer' is showing pretty astounding results in the country since it's release. With the release of the year's two biggest movies on July 21, 'Oppenheimer' and 'Barbie' clashed at the global theatres. However the results after four day of it's release are somehow repelling. The biopic thriller, 'Oppenheimer' outnumbered Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' movie. While the total collection of the Christopher Nolan movie hauled over Rs. 55 crore , Barbie on the other hand made Rs. 21 crore only.

Box Office clash

With it's release of the biographical thriller on Friday, July 21, the movie opened with 14.5 crore which was later followed by Rs. 17 crore on Saturday, Rs. 17.25 crore on Sunday and an additional Rs. 7 crore on day 4, Monday. While on the other hand, enchanting 'Barbie' is trailing behind the Nolan creation. On the first day of it's release, the movie garnered Rs. 5 crore, Rs. 6.4 on Day 2 followed by Rs. 7.15 crore on Day 3 and only Rs. 2.50 crore on Monday. 

The Global dynamics

Amid the Barbie craze in India, the movie is dragging slowly but also efficiently. However, the scene is different at the global front. In-fact, it is Oppenheimer whose dynamics are downpouring against Barbie in the international markets but also grossed over $ 174 million globally. While talking about Indian mainland, Oppenheimer is doing better that year's another big release i.e. Vin Diesel starrer Fast X but lacking behind Tom Cruise's 'Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning part I' which has collected Rs. 64.80 crore on it's first theatrical weekend. 

About 'Oppenheimer'

Directed by sci-fi marvel, Christopher Nolan, 'Oppenheimer' is a 2023 epic biographical thriller written and directed by the legend himself. It is based on true story and impact of the nuclear physicist Robert Oppenheimer on changing the course of World War II. Commonly known as the 'father of atomic bomb' he led the famous 'Manhattan Project' by delving into the creation of world's first atomic bomb which ultimately led to it's conclusion. The feature documentary explores the man's brilliance, hubris and relentless drive that led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and unleashed a mass hysteria.
