To justify the same, late actor Mathew Perry's legal expert came forward and explained the reason. Lawyer Jonathan Forster, who is also the director at Weinstock Manion revealed that everything that was stated in Mathew Perry's will was left in his trust, Alvy Singer Living Trust. Revealing further, he said, "The reason why we use trusts as opposed to wills is that trusts also avoid probate."

Further, he explained that when they work on an estate plan including a will and a trust, the will leaves the assets to the trust. "The will would be kind of like a catch-all, where if there are any assets owned by the person when they pass away," he added.
