With the release of Netflix's one of the most anticipated queer show, 'Heartstopper' on August 3, 2023, the queer content enthusiasts are shredding gaga with it's newly launched second season. Directed by Euros Lyn, the second season came up featuring the similar faces from the past in addition with some brand new characters. To describe in minimal words, the season 2 of the anticipated series was embedded in more drama, blossoming romance, new lovers, gripping plot and some nerve comforting characters.

Heartstopper Season 02

With the installment of the newly released sequel, Heartstopper brings back Charlie and Nick Nelson at Truham High. As the first season finished off with the proposal, the part two unapologetically starts off with their blooming romance as new lovers, often kissing on the alleyways and at times in school premises! If nothing, two of the leads surely comes back with a whole new adventurous/daring personality.

Starting off exactly where it ended, as new gay couple in the town, they are reflected as a zestful couple who are all set in shouldering responsibility and risks for their sake. With the vibrant walls of Truham High, the show also peeks into some other growing adolescence's life, including Tao and Elle who finds it confusing about their love for each other including Tara and Darcy, who amidst confusion and teenage hardship get's together in the name of true love. Heartstopper also paves importance to Isaac's character, who was pretty much blend in it's first season. Meanwhile Isaac finds it tough among his 'lover' friends group and soon escalates into a new part of his interests, he was unaware about.

The new season also pushed more light into Nick Nelson's character. Nick who is a claimed manly young man and plays Rugby, struggles it hard as he decides to come out to his family and friends about his sexual preferences as a bi.

Unapologetic review

As people's favorite show, the makers of Heartstopper did keep in mind about revolving the show around every character of the franchise instead of just Charlie and Nick. Kudos to the makers! With the effort of Nick's coming out phase, the show also brought in light about the 'not so discussed' consequences of being from the LGBTQ community. Show's another character, Darcy finds it more tough is coming out to her mother as a lesbian leading to some gruesome dramas, which is in-fact a bitter truth many of the people has to go through. Initially, the show tried to embellish the unseen gay drama in families while someone comes out of their closet orientations. To add more drama and fun, the show comes up with a school trip to Paris, wherein most part of the series revolves and also not to forget the infamous prom night, about which i am barely complaining about! The shows impactful storyline, and an unhinged equal importance to it's multiple characters, Heartstopper Season 2 truly stood tall on it's expectations.
