Is Hollywood going to face it's biggest catastrophe? The big news hailing from the land of Hollywood is breaking the internet as tens of thousands of actors from the industry will go on a midnight strike which will bring down the movie giant and numerous production houses to an unseen halt as they will join hands with the writers for the first industry wide-walkout after 63 years.
What's the strike buzz is all about?
According to the reports, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) has issued the strike order ever since the last ditch talks with studios and streamers over dwindling pays and posing threat by the interference of artificial intelligence ended with zero deal. The Sag which represents 160,000 actors including some A-listed artists has announced the walkout after failing to reach the demanded agreement with the Alliance of Motion Pictures and television producers which includes studios like Walt Disney and even Netflix Inc.
The long lasting writers strike
Meanwhile, it is not the beginning, as the Writers Guild of America are on a constant strike from May 2, 2023 which has shut down famous late night shows like 'The Tonight Show', and halted over numerous projects imperiling the traditional release of the new television shows coming in September. However as now the actors are supposedly to join the writers, The SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher told during a press conference and quoted "This is the moment of history, a moment of truth. If we don't stand tall right now we are going to be trouble." Continuing he further added, "We are all going to be in jeopardy of being replaced by machines and big business."
Strike as a threat!
As said earlier, the picket lines of the writers will be joined by numerous actors at midnight 07:00 GMT Friday. The never seen moment will occur after six long decades i.e. after 1960. With the closure of numerous production houses, the Hollywood rampage will surely delay numerous television shows and could postpone many major films. At such a peak moment of the industry's summer blockbuster season, it would one of the biggest hindrances the world has ever seen.
