Barbie day 5 Box Office collection; Film is doing well while Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer shows better results in India

As Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' got release on Friday, July 21, 2023, the movie has taken the global cinema by storm and had already broken many unseen records worldwide. But it is not the only movie that is waving wonders, biopic thriller 'Oppenheimer' is setting up the same marks all over too. Released on the same day, as Barbie and Oppenheimer are competing at the box office, it is becoming more intriguing to see which of the two movies are grabbing more attention and garnering a box office hit!

The movie clash  

While the enchanting 'Barbie' is outperforming Christopher Nolan's magnum opus in most of the international spheres, in India scenes are a bit different. The latter is however taking over Barbie's fame and it's box office collection. Followed by a successful Monday by Oppenheimer, the movie continued taking over 'Barbie' a wonderful collection on Tuesday too.

Meanwhile talking about Barbie alone, the movie has garnered Rs. 2.30 crore in the Indian landmass making it a grand total of Rs. 23.45 crore. If we we break the amount in individual days, the Margot Robbie starrer movie opened the Indian screens with Rs. 5 crore while showing a much better collection on Saturday with Rs. 6.5 crore. On Sunday, the doll movie grossed Rs. 7.15 crore but the collection dropped down to less than half on Monday, Rs. 2.5 crore followed by Rs. 2.30 crore on it's day 5, Tuesday.  

Coming to the 'Oppenheimer' success, with it's grand release on Friday, July 21, the movie opened with 14.5 crore which was later followed by Rs. 17 crore on Saturday, Rs. 17.25 crore on Sunday and an additional Rs. 7 crore on day 4, Monday and an astounding amount of Rs. 6.25 crore on it's fifth day, Tuesday making the grand total as equal as Rs. 62 crore nett. 

The 'Barbie' records

Both the movies, 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer', helmed by the greatest movie legends are setting new records and higher bar for the upcoming ensembles. With many records being broken, '

'Barbie' became the greatest opener of the year 2023 followed by 'Oppenheimer' as the biggest opening for a biopic. Led by Margot Robbie, 'Barbie' has crossed over many female led blockbusters such as Ocean's 8 - $ 297.7 million, Little Women - $ 218.8 million and Bird of Prey - $205.3 million. 'Barbie' also made the record for the greatest opener for female directed movie in the US overstepping Captain Marvel's $153.4 million.
