Marvel’s upcoming film Doctor Strange 2 'Multiverse of Madness' is all set to release in India on May 6 and the film is already breaking records at the box office. The Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen-starrer has minted big in advance ticket bookings ahead of its release.
As per the report, the Doctor Strange 2 'Multiverse of Madness' has earned Rs 20 crore, as of May 2, in advance booking at the box office.

According to the trade estimates, the film might see one of the best-ever opening days for a Hollywood film in India.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen-starrer has already surpassed the advance booking of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was a big hit in India. Given that Doctor Strange films are not as popular as Spider-Man or Avengers, the critics estimate the film's opening day won't be higher than it.

Apart from 'No Way Home', Hollywood films found it tough at the Indian box office post-Covid-19 pandemic. However, Doctor Strange 2 is likely to change the trend.

'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' deals with the concept of the multiverse. Several actors are likely to make cameos either as variants of existing characters or returning to play fan favourite roles from other franchises.
Helmed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange 2 is all set to release in theatres on May 6, 2022.
