Chandigarh ghuman chaliye? Jaawange kitthe? Elante chalde haan! That's what people used to say whenever they used to plan to visit Chandigarh. Well, major news coming in for Chandigarhians is that your one and only Elante Mall's name has been changed to Nexus Elante.
Yes, you read it right. Chandigarh's major mall Elante's name has been changed to Nexus Elante. This came after India's biggest retail platform Nexus Malls made changes to its 17 properties across 13 cities.

Elante Mall, now Nexus Elante, is a shopping mall in the city of Chandigarh. With a leasable area of 1,000,000 sq ft (93,000 m2), it is the 7th largest mall in Northern India and the 10th largest in India.

The mall is spread over an area of 20 acres. It is part of a mixed-use real estate development project by Larsen and Toubro called Elante.
Elante has always been the first choice of Chandigarhians and people living in Tricity.

In September 2015, a Mumbai-based Carnival Group had bought Elante Mall, at a cost of Rs 1,785 crore. It was one of the biggest deals for a single real estate or property in India at the time.
Later on, on July 28, 2017, Nexus Malls, a subsidiary of US-based global investment firm The Blackstone Group, bought Elante Mall. However, the amount was never disclosed. This was the second time that the Elante Mall was sold in two years.
