Mrunal Thakur, the talented actor who is gaining popularity in the Telugu film industry, recently shared insights into her journey. Despite her current success, there was a time when she wanted to leave the industry altogether. Yes, you read that correctly, Mrunal Thakur once wanted to leave the Telugu film industry after the success of her film 'Sita Ramam'. 


Challenges Faced

One of the major hurdles for Mrunal was the language barrier. Initially, not being fluent in Telugu left her feeling "handicapped". Hindi and Marathi were her preferred languages, and she struggled with lip-syncing and understanding the nuances of Telugu dialogues. She confessed to moments of frustration and even contemplated quitting.

During the filming of her debut Telugu movie "Sita Ramam" in 2022, Mrunal expressed her reluctance to continue working in Telugu to her co-star Dulquer Salmaan, who had debuted in Telugu with "Mahanati". She vividly remembers telling him that "Sita Ramam" would be her first and last Telugu film. However, Dulquer's response was pivotal. He offered encouragement, saying, "we'll see". His belief in her abilities and potential gave her the confidence to reconsider her decision.

Sita Ramam Success and Beyond

"Sita Ramam" turned out to be a massive success, propelling Mrunal's career forward. She subsequently starred in "Shouryuv’s Hi Nanna" alongside Nani in 2023, which also garnered acclaim. Her upcoming Telugu film, "Family Star", directed by Parasuram Petla and co-starring Vijay Deverakonda, is set to release on April 5th. Beyond Telugu cinema, Mrunal is also venturing into other regional industries, considering projects in Tamil and Kannada. Additionally, she is gearing up for her Hindi film "Pooja Meri Jaan".
