Purnima also had a role in Ajay Devgan's debut film, "Phool Aur Kaante," and portrayed Sanjay Dutt's grandmother in "Naam," directed by Mahesh Bhatt, her elder sister's son. Additionally, she played the role of Amitabh Bachchan's mother in the film "Zanjeer."
