Shilpa Shetty shared an inspiring message on her Instagram story, accompanied by a photo. She wrote, "Happy National Sports Day. Sports isn't just about winning; it's about celebrating our bodies, our minds, and our spirit. This Sports Day, let's inspire each other to reach new heights and achieve our goals." Her words reflect the broader essence of sportsmanship beyond mere victories.

Jackie Shroff paid tribute to Indian athletes by sharing a video montage of their remarkable achievements at the Paris Olympics 2024. In his post, he wrote, "Honouring our Indian Athletes at the Olympics." India's campaign at the Paris Olympics concluded with a commendable haul of six medals, including five bronze and one silver.

Among the notable highlights was Manu Bhaker, who made history by securing third place in the women's individual 10m Air pistol event, becoming the first Indian woman shooter to win an Olympic medal. She, along with Sarabjot Singh, also clinched a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, marking India's first-ever shooting team medal.

Swapnil Kusale earned a bronze in the men's 50m rifle 3P event, making him the first Indian shooter to win a medal in this category. Neeraj Chopra, aiming to defend his gold medal in the men's javelin throw, secured a silver with a best throw of 89.45 meters. The Indian men's hockey team, led by Harmanpreet Singh, celebrated back-to-back bronze medals for the first time in 52 years after defeating Spain 2-1. Wrestler Aman Sehrawat also brought home a bronze medal, securing India's first wrestling medal at the Paris Games.

Rakul Preet Singh also joined in the celebrations, posting a video of her golf sessions on social media. She captioned the video, "Bahar jao, khelo kudoo. Happy National Sports Day," encouraging her followers to embrace physical activity and sports.

National Sports Day is celebrated in honour of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand's birth anniversary. This day serves as a fitting tribute to the athletes and sports icons who have brought glory to India on the international stage.
