The video was posted by an Instagram user named “Sameeksha Avtr” and has since garnered over 17 million views. However, it wasn’t long before Alia's fans realized something was amiss.

Fans React to the Deepfake Video

Upon closer inspection, fans noticed that the video was not genuine. Comments flooded in, with one fan saying, “I thought it’s Alia, then I watched carefully, and she is not Alia.” Another user expressed their concern, stating, “AI is very dangerous,” while a third commented, “What the hell? Musk was right. AI is winning everything for real.” The sentiment was clear: deepfakes are unsettling and pose serious risks.

Other Celebs Deepfake Incident

This isn't the first time Alia Bhatt has been targeted by deepfake technology. Earlier this year, another video surfaced, which superimposed her face onto actress Wamiqa Gabbi’s body. This too caused significant buzz and concern online.

On May 7, Alia Bhatt dazzled at the Met Gala in a stunning Sabyasachi saree. Following this appearance, another deepfake video emerged, showing her in a red saree during a photoshoot. This video, shared by an Instagram account called Unifixface, was later confirmed by India Today to be a deepfake, once again featuring Alia’s face digitally placed on Wamiqa Gabbi’s body.

Meanwhile the creation of deepfake videos has become easier and more convincing. Fans and celebrities alike are growing increasingly concerned about the implications of these realistic yet false representations. This latest incident with Alia Bhatt underscores the need for awareness and regulation to prevent misuse of such powerful technology.
