It has been four days since the release of 'Sarfira,' the highly anticipated official remake of Suriya's critically acclaimed film. The stakes were high for this Akshay Kumar starrer, particularly given the lukewarm performance of his recent cinematic endeavours at the box office. However, despite the initial buzz, the film's performance has been underwhelming.

#Sarfira stands tall amidst the rare films of 2024 that have garnered a unanimous thumbs up from people across all demographics!

Fingers crossed that its box office numbers soar in the coming days..

This film deserves to be seen on celluloid in big numbers.#AkshayKumarpic.twitter.com/rDBaKKL2qa

'Sarfira' premiered in a competitive environment, releasing alongside Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2,' with 'Kalki 2898 AD' already captivating audiences in theatres. The competition was fierce, and unfortunately, Akshay Kumar's film struggled to make a significant impact. The opening collection for 'Sarfira' was quite disappointing, and although the film gained some traction over the weekend, its earnings sharply declined as the weekend drew to a close.

Went to watch #Sarfira after some word of mouth reviews. It is based on the true story of GR Gopinath, founder of India's first low-cost airline, Air Deccan. As a biopic enthusiast, i enjoyed it. A sincere film with good emotional depth especially, Seema Biswas. A good watch. pic.twitter.com/JVJcFnxg1j

On its first day, 'Sarfira' managed a modest opening with a collection of 2.5 crore rupees. The following days saw a slight improvement, with the film earning 4.25 crore rupees on the second day and 5.25 crore rupees on the third day. However, by Monday, the collection graph had begun to decline once more.

Fourth Day Collection of 'Sarfira'

According to data from Sacnilk, 'Sarfira' earned a mere 1.40 crore rupees by 10:30 PM on its fourth day, bringing its total earnings to 13.40 crore rupees. These figures are preliminary, and the final numbers could potentially show a marginal increase.

Can 'Sarfira' Break Even?

As reported by India TV, the film's budget is approximately 100 crore rupees. For 'Sarfira' to break even, it must perform exceptionally well during the weekdays. The intense competition from films such as 'Kill,' 'Munja,' 'Kalki,' and 'Indian 2' adds to the challenge.
