Assam Floods 2022: Khalsa Aid continues to provide supplies to flood victims

Assam Floods 2022: The volunteers of Khalsa Aid have always been there to lend a helping hand to those in need, and this time as well when Assam needs assistance the most, they are doing everything they can.

People stuck in isolated areas of Assam have been receiving clean drinking water and bread from the NGO. In addition to employing boats, they have occasionally been seen walking through chest-deep floodwater.

Volunteers from the UK-based non-profit organisation have once more stepped up in times of need to help with the relief efforts for the Assam floods.

The volunteers from Khalsa Aid could be seen riding boats to distribute supplies in the state's severely flooded districts. The official page of Khalsa Aid India posted a video to Twitter displaying a member giving food parcels to elderly people and children in a heavily flooded rural Assamese locality.

Supporters are seen loading rafting boats into a truck and then delivering safe drinking water to persons in need in a video posted by the official account of Khalsa Aid India.

Ravinder Singh, Khalsa Aid founder and CEO on May 19 took to his Twotter and wrote, "Our Khalsa Aid volunteers have arrived in the floods affected areas to carry out an assessment!"

While expressing gratefulness to the Khalsa Aid Foundation, Deputy Commissioner stated, "The District Administration Cachar expresses its thankfulness to Khalsa Aid India for extending a helping hand in this crisis period.

Meanwhile, the worst floods ever recorded in North-east India's history have been hitting Assam for the past few weeks, making headlines worldwide. Devastating images and videos from Assam have been spreading on social media. Over 21 lakh individuals reportedly suffer from the effects. According to reports, there have been 134 fatalities, and lakhs of people are still in need.
