The case has been filed against the cast and crew of the film 'Thank God' in a Jaunpur court by lawyer Himanshu Srivastava.
The petitioner claimed that the film's trailer is making fun of religion and has hurt religious sentiments.
Ajay Devgn, who is portraying Chitragupta and is wearing a suit, was seen making jokes and using inappropriate words in one scene, as per Srivastava, who lodged the complaint.

"Chitragupta is regarded as the Lord of Karma and keeps a record of a man's good and bad deeds. Such depiction of Gods can create an unpleasant situation as it hurts religious sentiments," the petition reads.
The film's extended three-minute trailer begins with Sidharth's character being involved in a car accident before entering a 'game of life', hosted by Chitragupt, played by Ajay Devgn, who assesses all his sins and ultimately determines whether he will spend eternity in hell or heaven.
