After Bollywood Akshay Kumar stepped down as tobacco brand ambassador, Ajay Devgn defended appearing in Vimal ads and said, "I was doing Elaichi".
Earlier on Wednesday, actor Akshay Kumar apologised to his fans for endorsing a tobacco brand and featuring in Vimal's ad. Akshay appeared in an ad along with Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn, who are the current ambassadors for the brand.

However, Akshay was criticised by his fans for his decision to appear in the ad because the actor promotes healthy living and fitness.
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn, who has been associated with Vimal for over years, talked about appearing in the ad.

During the promotions for his upcoming film Runway 34, Ajay Devgn was asked about the brand endorsement. He said that it was a personal choice. "When you do something, you see how harmful it would be and some things are harmful while some are not," he said.

Shah Rukh Khan recently joined as the brand ambassador and appeared in an ad along with Ajay Devgn. Last week, the duo teased Akshay's entry as well after which an ad, featuring Akshay, was aired a few days later.
