Akshay Kumar tests Covid-19 positive, not to be part of Cannes Film Festival 2022
Big news coming in! Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar has tested positive for Covid-19 and therefore, 'Khiladi' won't be able to be part of the red carpet event on the opening day of the Cannes film festival 2022.
Akshay Kumar was set to represent the Indian contingent alongside Pooja Hegde, AR Rahman, Shekhar Kapur, and Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur at Canner Film Festival 2022.

However, Akshay Kumar shared the shocking news that he has tested positive for Covid-19.
"Was really looking forward to rooting for our cinema at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but have sadly tested positive for Covid. Will rest it out. Loads of best wishes to you and your entire team, @ianuragthakur. Will really miss being there (sic)," he tweeted.

This is the second time that 'Bachchan Paandey' star has tested positive for the contagious coronavirus infection. Earlier, the actor had tested Covid-19 positive during the shoot of Ram Setu. The development had led to a complete halt in shooting back in April 2021.
Several film personalities were going to walk the red carpet of the 75th Cannes Film Festival which is scheduled to be held on May 17. Renowned folk singer Mame Khan, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vani Tripathi, and two-time Grammy-winning composer Rickey Kej, among the others were also part of the Indian contingent.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Prithviraj, which also features Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood and newcomer Manushi Chillar. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film will hit the big screens on June 3.
